      Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some tried-and-true methods to clean range hood filters effectively. Over time, they get pretty greasy and grimy from all the cooking, and I’d really appreciate any tips or techniques that don’t require a ton of scrubbing or harsh chemicals.

Ideally, I’m hoping to find a method that’s both easy and efficient—something I can do regularly without too much hassle.

Have you found any household products or tricks that work especially well? Maybe a soaking method, a dishwasher hack, or a particular cleaning solution that cuts through the grease with minimal effort?

I’d love to hear what’s worked for you—whether it’s a quick fix or a more thorough cleaning routine. Any advice, product recommendations, or step-by-step instructions would be super helpful!

Thanks in advance for sharing your experience!

Wet it with hot water. Put it in a garbage bag or huge pan where they’ll fit in. spray with ammonia to soak it overnight or leave it in the sun to steam it.

Then rinse well you can hose it down. Then put it in the dishwasher so you don’t get that nasty sticky oil residue.

Do not put other dishes in there other than the stove pieces like metal grill

DO NOT LET IT GO THROUGH DRY CYCLE so it doesn’t get discolor.
I’ve done so many range hood.

I have you all other options depending on how much time a patience you have.

Remove and run through the dishwasher or soak in hot water and DAWN to remove the grease.

Brush with a soft bristle brush.

I know oven cleaner will clean it but likely discolor it. I would soak it overnight in a strong solution of equal parts white vinegar, dawn and water.

                    Scrub with a brush.

I use oven cleaner and let it sit for a while. The magic happens when I use the pressure washer on it outside!
