When I want pastries, I like to bake my own, much cheaper than store bought. For the past couple years my baking has been off. Thought it was my age.
aw someone on a random video use an oven thermometer. I bought one and found my cheapo oven was off by 50 degrees.
So, the 350 degree setting was actually 400.
FrancesI bought a new stove a few years ago and it was also underbaking. had a tech come out and adjust it.
he told me all new ovens are +/- 25-50 degrees
HelenMy old range was way off; things improved with a new range. I learned to use oven thermometer until we replaced the old range.
CarolThe oven in my old apt use to burn everything & my son kept saying I put on the wrong temp. I finally got maintenance to ck it out.
He put in the temp gauge then turned the oven to 350.
It kept going past 350, 400, 450 the he shut it off! He ordered me a new stove!
BobbiI read somewhere that you can calibrate your oven yourself. I would Google it
TraceyYou need to calibrate it. The push button digital screen ones become uncalibrated when you hit the wrong buttons in a sequence.
Easy to fix. YouTube.
