We can always make more money, but we can’t make more time.
I am trying to figure out a way that I can outsource life tasks that take up my time in a way that makes sense.
Shopping, Cooking, Meal Prepping (I weigh my food and track macros)
General home chores tasks
Other chores/tasks that come up that stress me to find the time outside of my work hours to doSome of these things are quite small, but with the number of hobbies and obligations I am involved in, it’d be nice to relieve some of these tasks.
Would love to hear any recommendations, tips, things that have worked for you.
MindiUse a meal delivery service, some will cook meals according to your desired macros.
Hire a maid for house chores/cleaning.
Hire a personal assistant for everything else.
ChristineWhen my kids were younger, I had post-partum depression. One of the first things my mother told me was to make time for myself and hire a cleaner to come in every two weeks, and buy meals if necessary.
She even said get the kids in preschool so I could work part time, run errands and even sleep if I had to.
She was absolutely right and it made a difference in my mood and how my household ran. That was my self care.
I do not regret a single dollar I used toward those expenses.
DeidreGet a house cleaner to come every two weeks. I have even started stripping the bed and leaving clean sheets out.
I can’t tell you how liberating having this service is for me! She often cleans (not thoroughly but enough) my refrigerator shelves.
While not cheap, it’s freed me — both physically and psychically.
SarahI listen to a business podcast, and he talked about the importance of freeing up your time from mundane tasks so you can focus on things that matter most.
He recommends using grocery delivery, house keeper, nanny, personal assistant, etc. I would add meal prep.
I have tried Factor, but would probably go with a local service in the future.
RubyI use Grocery pickup or delivery, and housecleaning services for deep cleaning.
I’m a travel agent and others use my services to save them tons of time planning and booking travel (plus my services are totally free!).
JenniferI do grocery pick up at places that will allow me to do it for free. Meal planning is simple for me: I plan 5 dinners a week, 1 night for leftovers and one night for frozen pizza.
Meal prep is usually just making a pot of rice or a bunch of baked potatoes for the week, and then switching up proteins and vegetables on individual nights.
My instant pot can cook meat from frozen in an hour so that makes things easier too.
AlexMeal prep can be done in bulk, almost commercial size. Get more chest freezers and you can sacrifice one weekend to feed yourself for a month.
One guy has a random freezer without any labels on so he can get a surprise meal.
Buying bulk groceries can save both time and money.
Roomba is nice on a floor if you do not have kids or elderly. You can get a very weak pressure washer to clean bathrooms quicker.
You can also hire someone to do your tasks.Make sure your time is really that much valuable compared to the hired help.
