Question: Some people have gotten eyeglasses from Costco. I’m thinking of rejoining Costco, but I wanted to know your experience with using them for glasses.

Could I get an eye exam as well, and do they take insurance? The place I go to now is very expensive–even the cheapest frames.

My experience with buying glasses online has not been good–they are cheap and never fit correctly. So, I’d like an alternative.

      Thanks in advance!

I’ve had two pairs from them. Everything was great! Progressive bifocal lenses, right how they should be.

Great selection of frames that fit me…. I need petite frames.

        Good timeliness.

Costco is great for eyeglasses and you can book an appointment with their eye doctor as well.

          I used my insurance benefits.

I got mi e from Costco. You pay and then submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

Great experience. My son and I only get our glasses from Costco. And yes, they take insurance.

I get great deals on glasses at Costco. The eye doctor is wonderful at my store. She does not accept my vision insurance but does accept my health insurance.

                I couldn’t be happier!

Yes, the cheapest I have found if you need a strong prescription. Those places that advertise two for $$ are only for very weak prescription plain lenses.

Costco has an independent optometrist attached so yes that accepts insurance but I don’t think the glasses part does but double check that with them

We use a separate eye doctor and purchase our glasses at Costco. Very lucky that they take our insurance but you can also take any frames that you want to use, and they will use for your glasses.

True the selection is small but the price cannot be beat.

Very happy with my Costco glasses. I bought three pairs for way less than friends paid for one pair at other places.

I’ve worked as an optician in the past. Frames are frames it’s the quality and features of the lenses that make the difference.

As long as a good optician helps you select frames that will work well with your head shape and prescription, the lenses are really the biggest variable.

                        Costco carries a basic package.

Make sure you at least go for the lenses above the basic plastic as that is such low quality it scratches right away. Sam’s Club gives you lots of options for lens coatings and thinner more durable lenses.

Always get the anti-glare coating unless you want everyone looking at themselves instead of your eyes.

Yes, a good pair of glasses cost $ but it’s something medical that you use all day and every single day – aside from your mattress or a good quality pair of shoes (if you wear the same ones every day) there’s really nothing else you use for as much time each day as your glasses.

I actually like the Eye Drs at Costco. Knowlegable , informative, courteous. I never had problem.

Then I take my Rx and to the pick out Glasses.

                          Easy Peasy.

All my family goes there, going on 20 years now!

I feel that WAL-MART is a good deal, as well, for eye glasses. The staff at my Walmart optical have all been there for years and are super helpful.

My husband and I both got two pairs of glasses each and it was 400.00. You can call and ask what insurance they take.

I had gotten glasses once and they’re 600.00 for one pair.

My eyes are extremely bad, so super thick lenses.

I’ve been buying my glasses at Costco for the last 20+ years fabulous price and they always have the latest styles.

You can get an eye exam there, I have never done that

I go to my eye doctor for an exam and go to Costco to get my glasses – we’ve been very happy with our glasses.

It’s nice to get them adjusted when we’re there shopping!

Zenni dot com is a really cheap place too. I had cataract surgery now so don’t need to buy glasses but when I did buy from them it was good.

I had a strong prescription, progresses, etc

Also, fun tip, smaller framed face people… look into the kids frames. They’re heavier duty (need to withstand abuse from kids) are lighter, and cheaper.

Independent eye doctor is great! Used to not take insurance & at $125 for the exam was cheaper than my co-pay would have been elsewhere.

Now they take my insurance & it’s free! The glasses are much better than I paid far more for elsewhere.

                                        I buy 2 pairs & they’re still a lot less than 1 pair elsewhere.

I’ve been going to Costco optical for over 20 years. The optician knows her stuff, is independent from Costco, takes insurance, and you can’t beat the prices for glasses at Costco.

Walmart said my $600 glasses would be $350 after insurance… meanwhile I go get glasses with transitions with polycarbonate lenses and ray ban frames at Costco for $165.

Not the cheapest at Costco, no. My glasses through them were still like $600. I’ve been buying glasses from goggles 4 u and been really happy.

Now my glasses are like $40.

I go to my regular eye doctor, and then I take my Rx to Costco. I have always gotten my Glasses from Costco and have always been very happy with the product, Service, and Price.

Update went yesterday to Costco and got my daughter new glasses 2 pairs basic Rx $206.00 out the door with no insurance
