Thoughts on the app Alinea? I’m 29 and have no idea how to invest or where to start and this app seems pretty user friendly to me with getting started.
I’m looking for an easy-to-use investment app with helpful features for someone new to investing.
Does Alinea offer good educational resources, low fees, and a user-friendly experience?
I’d love to hear from those who have tried it—what are the pros and cons?
MarkUse fidelity, schwab, or vanguard. Research low cost, broadbased index / mutual funds and etfs. This should comprise the bulk of ur portfolio.
Keep expenses and no real need for more than 2 or 3 funds.
Self-education is key. Google, investopedia, and YouTube is ur friend. Look up any term u don’t understand and watch a video about it
ClaraI think apps like this that promise to do everything for you while you don’t lift a finger actually widen the gap between regular people and investing.
They make you think that this is all too complicated and you should just leave it to the experts (and that you need to pay for it).
It’s not that complicated and we don’t need the perfect UI and pretty platforms in order to invest, and most importantly you don’t need a monthly payment, that just defeats the purpose.
You’re young and probably tech savvy, read A Simple Path to Wealth, watch tutorials on how to interact with Fidelity or Vanguard platforms if it seems hard, and get knowledge about where beginners should start – look into index funds for example.
