Tesla’s stock price has dropped, and it’s now on sale. Is this a great buying opportunity, or is it better to stay away?

P/E ratio is still around 150 (way over bought for a normal stock)
If you believe Optimus, and FSD will bring the next technological revolution, and $TSLA has enough of a moat around the tech to bring it to scale before there are knock-offs it is a bargain, if not it’s probably still over priced.

Up to you to decide on how optimistic you are about TSLA’s AI future

Leave emotions out of it. Yes, buy Tesla because of the fundamentals

Elon Musk is gutting and blocking the education system, shutting down USAID, him and Trump firing FBI personnel that investigated breaking in and violence on the capitol, not to mention he’s trying to obtain all the personal and private information from citizens, you tell me if that sounds like it’s a CEO of Tesla you can trust.

I personally wouldn’t want to buy a Tesla car now because of Musk. The relevance of this for investing purposes is that knowing I’m probably not the only one who feel this way, I’d be very cautious investing into the company too.

Thing is, Musk is extremely unpredictable, and he may well do and say things under this administration that will make more people loathe him.

This matters, as more than almost any other company I can think of his persona is tied to the perception of the company.

No way. I want him out of the S&P. Many will say this is shortsighted, wrong, etc. but he is the only one that consistently screws around.

He isn’t worth the dual citizenship he has been able to obtain.

Yes, definitely lead with your emotions when dealing with the stock market.

It’s the first thing they teach you.

On sale based on what metrics? The share price has come down, but so have sales and profits.

Competition from China is absolutely hurting their bottom line.

Lots of chapped private parts in the FIRE world today
Back to reality….if your a supposed pro-green, pro EV person, Tesla is best in class so NO brainer if your an investor.

If your not, which surprisingly a lot of FIRE people are not, trade away.

I try to remove politics from stock buying bc I think most of the companies I invest in have awful practices, but it’s hard for me to in this case.

I used to occasionally buy and sell very small amounts since it’s such a volatile stock that is guaranteed to hit low lows and high highs, but it’s hard to consider it now.

Partially because of my beliefs, but also because I genuinely am not sure the company will have long term success with Elon leading it and alienating all those who supported it.

I do think we’ll see some highs in the next 4 years as he probably gets crazy tax credits, gets his hands in more things he has no business being in and is able to undermine other EVs by helping to get the tax credit, etc removed, but I’m likely out on TSLA.

Morally, I wouldn’t because I don’t want to give that sorry excuse for a human any more money.

Aside from that, I still wouldn’t purchase it. I don’t have a lot of confidence and faith in the company as it is currently run.

It has had problem after problem with its vehicles, they aren’t meeting their commitments in production or in sales, and now you have several European countries showing large declining sales, which only few further after he threw up a nazi salute.

Add in the fact that their Financials overall for 2024 were pretty abysmal.

If you’re considering purchasing it, I would suggest you feel incredibly confident that am of these things can turn around, and be prepared to hold long term in order to see that potential rebound.

I sold my shares because a) politics has made it too volatile a stock for my comfort

                              b) friends of mine who own them are saying they are so poorly manufactured and maintained that as they are aging people are finding out what a scam they are and he’s doing nothing to resolve the issues.

Why not? It really depends how much you’re exposed to these tech companies

Elon alienated his existing customers and embraced the folks who despise electric cars. Personally, I’m not touching it.

The Tesla brand is EVs and the brand is now toxic

I wouldn’t take shares of that if someone gave them to me. Money isn’t everything, have some morals.

Europe understands and rejects Musk’s support of alt-right and Nazi groups. I wish some Americans were half as smart.

Tesla sales in Europe are pretty much over. Oops

No no and no. Even from a business standpoint the brand is being boycotted in various parts of the world and now California.

Others will follow, so no thank you.

Tesla has a strong history of destroying short sellers and haters. Tesla will comeback stronger than ever.

Strong buy now that is on sale.

The fact people invest off emotions is wild. Tesla is going nowhere. Think of it as Black Friday for the stock. Zoom out.
Not accounting for splits, tesla is like 6k per share.

I dont see Volkswagon iut of business. They have a pretty dark history.

Just make your money and dollar cost average Tesla, and you can be part of the double commas club.
