For those who are currently invested in **VTSAX**, **VTI**, or **VOO**, could you please share what you see as the main advantages of these funds compared to others?

I’m particularly interested in hearing from people who chose these over other popular index funds or ETFs.

Are there specific features—such as performance, diversification, expense ratio, or tax efficiency—that made you prefer one of these three?

Do you find one better suited for long-term investing, retirement planning, or passive income?

Any personal insights, experiences, or comparisons would be really helpful.

I’m trying to better understand what makes these funds so popular and whether they might be a good fit for my own investment goals.

Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Compared to any other ETF or mutual fund that tracks a known index like the S&P 500 or total stock market?

I don’t think there’s any difference meaningful enough to be significant.

All of them are very low fees at this point.

VTSAX is better than other mutual funds because Vanguard uses a patented process to extract capital gains via their ETFs.

This is unique to Vanguard. But all ETFs do this.

Why have VTSAX and VTI? One is an etf and the other a mutual fund. Would welcome any information to help me understand.

I only have vtsax and would have not considered having the etf version

The biggest advantage is that you don’t have to pick and choose amongst thousands of other possibilities.

Those three options are more than good enough to capture the total American market and some of the world.

Mix in a little VXUS and then you own the world very cheaply.

Lower fees like expense ratios. Most all mutual funds don’t beat the market over time.

Some can over a year or a few years but very few do over a long period.

Why even try to guess which ones?
