Hello all.. I do apologize if thisnisnt a frugal tip. I was hoping someone could tell me a place can donate prescription eyeglasses for people in need?

( so… its “kind of a Frugal tip”). I dont want to donate to Goodwill if there is a very noble charity that puts them in the hands of people who can use them.

Our Walmarts have a collection box near the eyeglass area for any glasses.

They give them all to the Lions Club. So easy.

I believe Costco has a box collecting them, as do most eye glasses stores & optometrists.

You can probably call a local Lions club and ask where donation drop boxes are located

Eyemart Express does, you have to ask they have the donation box behind their counter and don’t advertise I had ask the Optometrist when I was there if he knew if they donated and he said Yes, they do and it goes to the Lions Club.

Lions club has a program just for prescription glasses donations.

Lions club members…try local eye doctors, most of them are members.

Lions club, and many eyeglass places have donation boxes in the office just for this.

Call around.

Many eye clinics and malls have a Lions box for donations. We had one at a place I worked.

My local Walmart Vision Center has a box so I drop them there.

Lion’s Club. Many vision centers work with them to accept donations. Call first though as I know some Wal-Marts and Sam’s Clubs don’t anymore.
