Hi,
Would like opinion regarding renting properties (townhouse with 2 separate units) while living abroad.Managing companies take 8 %. The ROI will take a hit. I would like to know what was your experience.
Yes / No / worth it?
JohananI haven’t done it yet, although I’m in the same spot. Planning to move temporarily to Argentina next year.
I’m planning on self managing and then hiring tasks out to a realtor.
I think the only big unknown for me so far is tenant move outs.
FarreBiggest issue is usually unruly tenants, especially if it’s a house or short-term rental agreement.
That’s usually a bigger hit than the 8%.
If you have trusted people in the area willing to look after the management for a fee, I’d trust people I know better.
Johnmy experience wasn’t positive. I bought low and sold high but in the end didn’t make enough to be worth the bother.
