Hi,
Would like opinion regarding renting properties (townhouse with 2 separate units) while living abroad.

Managing companies take 8 %. The ROI will take a hit. I would like to know what was your experience.

I haven’t done it yet, although I’m in the same spot. Planning to move temporarily to Argentina next year.

I’m planning on self managing and then hiring tasks out to a realtor.

I think the only big unknown for me so far is tenant move outs.

Biggest issue is usually unruly tenants, especially if it’s a house or short-term rental agreement.

That’s usually a bigger hit than the 8%.

If you have trusted people in the area willing to look after the management for a fee, I’d trust people I know better.

my experience wasn’t positive. I bought low and sold high but in the end didn’t make enough to be worth the bother.
