Ok, I feel silly asking this.
Are Mason jars are safe for storing HOT liquids?I’m trying to move to glass jars vs plastic for my brewed teas.
SaritaYes. Another thing you can do to mitigate thermal shock is have a spoon in the jar as you pour the hot liquid into the jar.
WalterYes, but be wary of temperature shock.
Have the jars on a cooling rack or thick kitchen towel before filling with hot liquid and let cool enough to be able to hold it with bare hands before putting them in the refrigerator.PamNot if they are ice cold to put the hot tea in but not shelf stable either unless you can it, otherwise put in refrig
AlanYes, and you can even put into the fridge fairly quickly. Do NOT freeze with the hot liquid inside
