I will say that restaurants and grocery stores throw away so much edible food.

If you found the bags of ice, it must have been recently tossed.

        Good for you!

Stores should be fined for throwing edible food away. It could easily be donated to a food bank and very appreciated.

The expiration dates were created to keep product moving for the Corporations. Once the product expires, bacteria doesn’t have a time table and burst open on that date.

The product could become stale since manufacturing, if it has oul it still shouldn’t go rancid on that date either.

              Food for thought….

I am from Pa we have Amish stores that sell Mostly outdated food. I shop there all the time. I buy outdated food drinks and the medicine is always a bargain.

There’s also a cold storage facility and I buy from there. Best deals on outdated candy, you can buy a little or a lot, even buy the full pallet.

In nursing school we were taught the medicine isn’t spoiled by the sell date it’s just the government saying it’s bad so you see in the medicine cabinet oh this Tylenol is out dated I’ll throw it out and buy more.

My son drives a rollback and dumpster dives for me all the time. Warehouses throw tons of good stuff away because of expiration dates.

We are a country of waste.

I worked as a Director in the Waste Disposal Industry. Dumpster Diving is not safe.

All types of contamination is thrown away with that food you are taking out if the dumpster.

Please just ask the owner of the store/restaurant if you can have their leftover before it goes into the trash.

What if the items you get from dumper diving are recalled items for reasons other than not listings allergens?

How are you protecting yourself from getting sick?

I wouldn’t recommend drinking the milk or eating the burritos due to not knowing how long it had been out there.

Cold food starts to grow bacteria after 2 hours of not being refrigerated.

Please be kind. Opinions vary and if it’s not your cup of tea, scroll on. Evidently some have never been or seen real hunger.

I volunteered at a soup kitchen where people licked plates, took others left overs they didn’t want and begged for us to give them bread with a little mold on it that we were supposed to throw out.

That dumpster would have been a blessing for them…

France doesn’t throw food away. There is a law there now that the food either goes for animals or human consumption.

That should happen more in other countries and honestly if food isn’t good enough for either animal or human should go to compost.

Watch when students move out of dorms and apartments at the end of the school year!!

My daughter filled her van twice.

Brought stuff home, washed and now selling it all

I know a lot of people eat what they find in dumpsters but I don’t think I could unless it was that or hunger.

Please be very careful. Dumpsters are dirty.
