I used to buy a store brand bag of frozen vegetables that was for adding to a roast. It was very affordable, was the perfect size for feeding a family of 2 and had the right veggies without too many different ones.
I think it had small potatoes, carrots, maybe celery and onions. I can’t find it so I think they don’t make it anymore.
How would I go about making up some of these on my own for winter?
Do I nedd to freeze a special way? How do I prevent freezer burn?
SherriI believe I have seen this mix recently. I usually look for it too.
I have found both ” soup vegetables ” and ” stew vegetables ” by picksweet in local store usually in the fall and winter.JanetUse freezer bags after blanching for two minutes.
AndreaYou need to at least blanch the vegetables to arrest the development of enzymes before freezing.
You could par-cook too.
EmilyI pressure can all of our vegetables and then mix and match
