Do any of you ladies know how to cut your own hair? I used to do it in high school and I was planning on starting to do it again.

I was just wondering what techniques or tips you all had?

I always pulled all my hair forward and cut across to make a layered look.

So many YouTube videos out there. I do the unicorn method which is pulling all my hair into a ponytail right above my forehead and cutting straight across.

The more horizontal the angle the more layers.

        Then I add some bangs.

I’ve always trimmed my fringe in between cuts. I use a comb and hair scissors. Getting harder not being able to see properly without my glasses!

I trim my husband’s hair with clippers – save 15 euros at the barber’s.

I also did the unicorn method during Covid. I go to a salon now, but if I needed to, that’s the method I’d use again.

But I did buy a set of hair cutting tools on Amazon to make it look better than normal household scissors.

The set included thinning sheers, I think those helped a lot to make it look better.

I always cut my own hair. I twist sections and cut the ends in what feels like equal lengths then my husband will check and even any places in the back I have missed..

This has worked when I wear my hair short and now as my hair is longer.

I cut my own hair. I learned how on YouTube. I do like Stephanie Lee Stauffer said she cuts hers.

I also from the unicorn tail, I split that tail into 3 sections (I have very thick hair, so I have to split it up) and vertically cut each section so my hair doesn’t have blunt cut look.
