Has anyone else noticed the pricing at Aldi’s isn’t really saving that much anymore? I bought 10 things and it was almost $40.

I’m getting discouraged as it’s getting harder and harder to eat a variety of produce and such.

Well, that’s what businesses often do- get into a community, start with low prices, build a customer base, and gradually raise prices.

Walmart used the same business model.

I go to Aldi, Costco, and Walmart. I shop with a list and start at Costco first. I price compare at Costco with the aldi and Walmart apps.

If Costco is cheapest, I get it, otherwise I move down the list.

Once done at Costco I go to aldi and price compare everything there with the Walmart app. Then I go to Walmart last.

I know other grocers have special deals and days, but I don’t keep track.

I can assume approximately 20% savings between HyVee and Walmart, and another 20% between Walmart and Aldi. I’m sure it depends on what you buy.

I haven’t taken the time to cross reference all the loss leaders, not worth my time, my savings are based on full shopping trip not a few things here and there.

I do have basics I prefer from each store, especially if I’m after a particular brand.

All the prices are going up right now no matter where you shop.

I buy a few things from Aldi, but honestly I have done better with Kroger and their downloadable coupons, then the snail mail ones for products I regularly buy not to mention their fuel rewards..

My granddaughter just got one in her town. She said she saved about 50% of what she normally spends.

It’s a matter of constantly checking prices on the items you normally buy.

I shop Aldi, Publix, Kroger, and Walmart, and, you are right, Aldi is not always the cheapest, but I typically only buy certain items there, and sale items.

At Aldi, I but veggies, some fruit, pasta, bread and cheese. I do like their salmon and sometimes they have good fish.

I also buy their organic chicken and specialty sausages. Their frozen fruit is excellent too.

I’m fortunate to also have a save a lot and I like their canned veggies, various other things.

We also have a Walmart and I buy eggs and cream there. My husband likes their orange juice there as well.

For the most part, we grow everything else or buy from local farmers.

Paper products, zip lock bags and olive oil, cereal, stuff like that, I bulk buy at Sam’s club. (We go quarterly)

We live pretty rural. But my husband and I both work in bigger towns. So that makes it easier.

Prices everywhere are much higher than they used to be.

It’s really sad. I used to complain about the gallon of orange juice being 4.95$. Now it’s $8.95. But, we still buy it!

It’s generally not cheaper, just depends on the item. Not like it used to be.

I price compare everything and it’s usually about the same as Wal-Mart.

Aldi is okay….not my first choice store! Only items I go there for are …… Cheese Sauce in jar, brownie mix, European chocolate bars, fresh chicken, cottage cheese, bread.

ALL superior products!

Luckily I have 5 grocery stores all close together so I check sales and go to each one for sale items.

I havent brought eggs since Dec our family of 5 has not missed them if and when cheaper will purchase again.

I’m going to multiple stores to shop loss leaders now, as Aldi’s advertised prices are higher than Kroger or County Market loss leaders.

I agree their prices are sometimes even higher than Kroger’s. I comparison price and for me?

Sam’s actually has the best pricing per unit even comparing to Aldi’s generics.

They really aren’t a cheap store anymore.

I feel like no matter where you shop, some items are a better deal than others.

For instance, I love Costco, but many of their items aren’t necessarily cheaper, even though you buy in bulk.

I’ve been doing really good still at Aldis. You make a meal plan, make a list, and stick to what you need.

I can get 4 meals for $120 or less.

I’m sorry, but they’re still cheaper than everywhere I go here in New England.

Aldi’s is responding to what’s happening under this administration’s policies.

We have no one to blame who voted them in.

I shop at Aldi, Walmart, PicknSave and Piggly Wiggly weekly. All are 5 mins. from me. Aldi isn’t always the cheapest.

I also shop at Woodmanns. 17 mins from me.

I look at sales ads and determine which stores are less expensive for what I need.

I think it depends on where you live. Where I am, definitely cheaper on the whole, but there are loss leaders at other stores that are less, but require more than one trip.

We just got a grocery outlet… some really good deals, some a bit higher than aldi.

Create a price book, keep 3 months shelf stable/frozen on hand, less meat, and eat seasonally for the least cost over all.

Also, frozen fruit and veg is your friend.

We shop at many stores to get best prices on everything.
Also, we are not afraid of our frig or shelves looking empty. We still find lots of things to eat in our kitchen.

I guess I’m saying we don’t shop to stock our kitchen.

Rather, we shop to get necessary items and if we run out of this or that temporarily, we eat other things.

And if we are out of chicken for instance, we don’t have to have it; we just eat other meat we have – until the chicken is a decent price.

I shopped there today and I had that exact same thought! Not really much savings over other stores.

I bought a pretty good size shoulder tote from Aldi today for a few cents less than $20.

I was pleased. It depends in what you are buying
