So I put several pounds of deer burger in freezer ( straight from the butchers freezer to my freezer)

But I must not have closed the door completely. So the meat did thaw but was still was cold when I discovered it.

I closed / locked the door and it will refreeze but I am worried if it will b ok to eat.

We have done this also. If the meat was still cold, it should freeze back just fine.

When we buy meat from the grocery store, that meat has almost always been frozen at least once before we get it and then we refreeze it.

I’ve refroze meat. Might lose a little flavor but it’s fine.

I had a freezer thaw and had always been told you can’t refreeze stuff.

I Googled it and found that the meat will not be ruined or unsafe to eat…but there may be a slight change in the quality such as consistency/texture.

With ground meat…I doubt you’d even notice.

Not supposed to thaw and refreeze. You can cook it up or can it, if it’s been cold

It will be fine technically if there were still ice crystals in any of it it was still frozen

I’ve had a moose hind quarter that I thawed in an unplugged freezer. Once thawed I ground it up and refroze.

                  No one got sick.
