$210/month on a ‘20 X5 full cov with Geico in NYC. It did creep up this last renewal from 170 though for no reason.

Has to do with the number of stolen cars in King County on the daily, accidents, and cost to repair vehicles increasing. And you live in HCOL so not only are our taxes high so is insurance.

Teslas are known to have higher insurance from my understanding. Bc they can’t just like replace a flat tire they have specialty tires and same with a Ton of other parts.

You can shop around, but I wouldn’t expect much difference.

Two reasons: “Tesla” and “Seattle”. The crime rate is rising steadily, and Teslas are notoriously expensive to repair.

Because your car costs a fortune to repair and you live in a high cost crime area.

                  I drive a 2021 Lexus NX450h. I’m 34 never had a accident. High income earner.

I live in San Diego and my insurance is $199 a month w/Progressive – I don’t think yours is far off.

I pay $2300 every six months for a model 3 and a model y in SoCal. My husband and I are both in our late 30s with clean records. We are with progressive.

Holy shit! I’ve read that insurance is high on electric cars because the batteries can’t be fixed. If you wreck it more than likey the battery has to be replaced and that is seriously expensive.

I would relate that to most other battery powered tools.

You throw it away rather than fixing it.

I would guess it’s because of your particular car combined with your location. Our next payment will be $637 for the next 6 months, full coverage on two cars.

They’re somewhat older and less nice, though – a 2009 Toyota Camry and a 2016 Honda Odyssey.

For those of yall saying bc of “tesla” and city. You don’t know what you’re talking about. We have two tessies (myself and my husband) and live in the murder capital and don’t pay 1900 every 6 months.

OP shop around. If you can get USAA even better.

Most times if someone thinks their coverage costars To much they will rate shop it . It doesn’t really tell you why it’s high but it does tell you if you have the lowest price or not.

Because anything here is insanely expensive (I live barely in to pierce co where it is penny’s cheaper). But shop around and see what else is out there.

I know a broker in Puyallup you could call and ask, they can do quotes for multiple companies so you can see it all in one place.

Insurance rates across the country have been increasing for people with no accidents, no tickets, etc. And this is regardless of vehicle type.

It’s similar to Cable where you have to call around every couple of years to check comparable rates with other companies and keep switching and it’s the only way to keep the rates down the same with cable.

                                  Mines 30$/mo but it’s liability on a 91 civic 😂
