I don’t use milk much and it always went bad. I bought breast milk disposable pouches from Amazon and froze in 1/2 and 1 cup sizes (use a measuring cup, not the writing on the pouches).
Defrost as needed.
Always make sure the milk is totally defrosted and shake well before using. Great for camping too!
The bags are single use only but it’s cheaper than throwing away spoiled milk.
Last for 6 months in freezer. I think they are maybe 14 cents each for 50.
SuzannI remember growing up my mom mixed powdered milk with real milk to make it last longer.
SuzannI only buy Fairlife milk and it seems to last longer than regular milk.
NeshaWide mouth canning jars work for this, and so many other things.
JessieI use Gladware 1 or 2 cup containers with lids to freeze milk, can be reused indefinitely
LisaI’m just picturing the look on your friend’s faces when they see you pouring that in to your dinner recipe! Lol
MelissaMy milk expired yesterday but it’s still good. Can I freeze it now?
SusieAs a side note – we keep our milk at the back of the fridge, never in the door.
Helps extend shelf life.
JennyI re-use small 1/2 and 1/2 plastic creamer bottles (12 oz.) and freeze. I don’t drink that much milk either.
I usually buy 1/2 gallon of milk for about $1.19 at Kroger (sale) and separate them into the little containers and freeze.
ChanellI may try this. I don’t drink it so would only buy milk if needed for cooking.
DonnaMy husband will only drink lactose free milk. It takes a long time to spoil.
JackieI buy boxed, shelf stable, qt., milk from Dollar Tree. Good on pantry shelf from 6 mo to a year.
Lasts a long time once opened in the fridge.
SharonI bought those pre-measured baggies at dollar tree. They are 40 for $1.25.
Three cents each.
JoyWe (2) buy a gallon of whole milk. We pour a quart in a glass bottle, squish a little air out of the plastic jug and freeze it.
When our quart is gone, we defrost the frozen milk, pour a quart into the glass bottle and I make homemade Greek yogurt with the half gallon.
This is about monthly because we don’t drink a lot of milk.
