Totalled up returns for 2024.
FInsihed the year at 19.57% total return.
I put 20% of the portfolio in HYSA/CDs as a defensive move as I near retirement potentially in 2025.Curious about total returns of those young/nearing retirement/already retired members out there.
FYI-any new money I added as stepped up cost basis so return is truly that
SamTotal return:
2024 27.7%
2023 41.8%
2022 -28.5%
2021 21.1%
2020 63.8%
5 Year – 157%Just about to hit two years retired, I invest like I’m 20 as well.
JuleMy total return for 2024 across my entire portfolio was 32.17%. We are 13 years away from retirement but investing like we are 20 years old (aggressive).
Alvis25.68% return in 2024. Long way to go….17 years before I hang up my boots.
I just stared maxing out my TSP contributions.
AlanI am semi retired with two years of expenses in t-bills/cds and the rest in qqq/total stock market index/S&P. I don’t pay any advisors and other investment expenses are almost zero.
Boring but I sleep quite well and outperform my friends who seem to love to pay for professional advice.
ThomasWere at 34.14 for the year just with our ira. Have another 650k in cds that did 4.5% the last few months [home sale]
