Any advice on fixing a dresser drawer? My daughter has had an Ikea dresser for 8 years, and the bottom drawer will no longer go in/stay in its track.
Do I have to get rid of the dresser, or is there a way to fix this?
The tracks themselves still seem securely attached, but I was wondering if the dresser is like spreading apart or something making the drawer not secure in the track.
Any advice?
TIA!
LeeIf none of that works, you can do what I had to do when I lost a drawer in my kitchen. tThe bottom drawer was the empty spot, and I found a wicker basket that fit in there perfectly and I could pull it in and out as I needed.
It looked like I meant it.
I put my household hand tools in it, and I could just grab the basket and take it to whatever job needed to be done.
SheilaI do have to say that I’m impressed that something from IKEA made it eight years before having any problem!
BrianI’d go through and tight up any screws or bolts you can. If needed you can add some new screws to tighten up anything that needs it.
Just be careful as the “wood” has a tendency to split.
You might want to drill small pilot holes.
ChanellTake all the drawers out and see if anything is worn or blocking it.
