What’s a fair realtor compensation when buying a home if you already have a buyer for your current one? 3%?

I would just look up all paperwork regarding the sale, file it all yourself, save thousands.

Work with the realtor to buy something and have them only handle the buying.

From the few people I know that have had the time and done FSBO, they said it was just slightly time consuming, but not difficult.

I’d recommend still using an agent to sell to your neighbor at maybe 1-2% depending on cost or event for a flat fee to assist with logistics.

2.5-3% is fair. Most sellers are still paying buyer agents however.

You can also ask the agent to prioritize listing that do so you aren’t paying them out of pocket.

Fixed cost based on the work estimate that is involved vs a % fee.

Why are you not using the same agent to buy your new home and sell your existing home?

whatever agent you choose to work with will have a fee structure that they will discuss with you and you can work it out with them.

its not something you figure out on your own.

it’s possible they can get the agreed to commission covered by the seller so you may end up paying nothing.

Why would you need an agent to sell a home when you have a buyer. You can both skip it and save that 6% amongst you.

Maybe, use a title company for the payment.

Why do you need an agent if you have a buyer? Can’t you just use a real estate atty to do paperwork?
