The washer went out again. The same part we replaced a few months ago. I live with my daughter and fam. Her husband does the repairs.
He’s pretty good at that stuff and what he doesn’t know he videos and figures out.
We normally buy local from the same little parts store my husband and I always did when he was alive.
But this particular washer for this part is a bit high, so it’s cheaper to order on Amazon, but here we are at it again. I had put a load in before bed.
It sounded like a rocketship going off in the middle of the night. Jilted me out of a dead sleep.
Made it to the last spin, but didn’t spin out. My daughter offered to take the load to the Laundromat.
No need for that. I had my grandson help carry the clothes to the bathtub and wrang them out myself. He just doesn’t get why anyone would do that.
I’m like kid you just have to adapt and make it work. The part won’t be here until Sunday, I’m not letting clothes sour and the roads are too bad to be going out for something we can manage here.
JackieBlessed to have that handy SIL. Was the part under warranty?
NancyWhen a seller won’t stand behind product…. Buy it again from the same darn seller.
Wait a week or 2, return the defective part for refund. Amazon will back you up – BUT might insist on a swap out.
Also sometimes there’s another reason a part repeatedly breaks. Tension, clogs, lube needed …
LauraI’d either reach out to the seller of the part and tell them it’s failerd (often leaving a review will help)
But I need to share – a few years ago we went thru something similar – and finally called a appliance repair parts place for the part.
Turns out the part we were buying online was cheap knock off quality wise – is why it was failing (and why it was cheaper)
Sometimes you get what you pay for and saving a few bucks, isn’t actually saving you anything.
RhondaWe have ordered dryer parts from amazon and not had good luck with the parts lasting.
We bought a new dryer after heating element going out 3 times in less than 2 years.
