If you and your family do not already have sealants on your teeth I highly recommend them!

My mother put them on my teeth when my adult teeth grew in and most of them lasted until I was 40.

Got my first small cavity at 41 so I had more put on.

The amount I’ve saved on dental care is priceless as I have never paid for anything more than cleanings, that one and only cavity and new sealants in 30+ years.

      I just wanted to share!

Hygienist here – sealants are great if done correctly. My kids had them done on all their permanent back teeth when they came in.

They are now in their 30’s and have never had cavities.

        I highly recommend sealants!

The amount of people that have never heard of sealants is concerning..

The only cavities I had were under sealants, about 15 yrs after they were put on me.

My husband was in the navy for 22 years and was on submarines. They were fortunate to have a porcelain overlay on their teeth if they wanted as dental wasn’t readily available.

He passed away a year ago and had never had a cavity.

He did however lose 2 teeth (molars, they just got loose and fell out) after a rapid weightloss due to declining health.

I had the sealants done I absolutely believe in them I feel they help avoid cavities.

I was too old to have gotten these, or my mom did not have it done. All of my molars are filled, crowned, weak etc.

Yes, well worth the cost and I did my 3 kids and they are all in their 30s with great teeth.

I however have spent many hrs in the chair and lots of money.

My husband never had sealants and his first small cavity occurred when he was past 50. Can’t remember his exact age.

Some people have good teeth and others, not so much!

Well funny thing because my daughter had sealants 2 years ago and Thursday they let us know they need to be redone as they have wore off.

They are recovering them for free

Did the same for my 3 kids and I don’t think any of them ever had a cavity, unlike myself with a mouth full of fillings.

Sealants are usually rec for newly erupted teeth as that’s when they are most effective.

So usually they are put on the first adult molar which is called 6 year molar and that’s when the child is mostly cooperative to sit long enough to put them on.

Insur doesn’t pay for adults to have sealants also so that’s why we don’t usually put them on adult teeth.

Also depending on patients habits like grinding ice chewing and others they do have a lifespan some people for a long time others not do much.

It’s crazy how many people haven’t heard of sealants since they’ve been around for a long time! I’ve had sealants on my teeth for over 30 years!

My kids have had them since they were very young.

They may need replacement from time to time depending on wear and tear and how well they were put in, but they’re better than getting cavities.

We also don’t have them on all of our teeth as not all teeth need them.

Insurance paid for all of them, even the redos.

There was nothing like a sealant when I was a kid. That is why some of us have not heard of it.

Besides, dentists would not have as much work.

When mine came off I thought I had a cavity but it was just them coming off. I’ve not had any dentist say anything about putting them on again.

I had 0 cavities growing up but did have the sealants.

Don’t seal your teeth n get kidney disease. I’m 63 still have all my teeth. Husband never had his teeth sealed. He’s 65 n only 4 cavities in his life.

                                      He loves sweets.

It’s called brush minimum 2 times a day. Even if you brush for 60 sec vs recommended 2 minutes you lower your chances of tooth decay as well as gum disease.

GUM DISEASE NOT CAVATIES ARE THE PRIMARY CAUSE OF TOOTH LOSS!!°

My husband had these and has no cavity’s. I didn’t and I have a ton and I’ve done all the natural things I can do to avoid them.

I wasn’t even allowed to have soda or juice growing up so and he was.

Are sealants- is that when they paint on what I think they said is some type of sealant on your teeth?

I think they did that for my kids when they were younger sometimes… You never hear dentists or hygienists ever bringing that up??
