I was going to make stuffed peppers but life. Can I cut & freeze bell peppers?

I often buy bell peppers in bulk, but sometimes I can’t use them all before they start to go bad. I’m wondering if it’s possible to cut them up and freeze them for later use. Will freezing affect their texture or taste?

Do they need to be blanched first, or can I just chop and freeze them directly?

Any tips on the best way to store them so they stay fresh and flavorful?

Yes. You can also pull them out of the freezer and make stuffed pepper casserole

Cit them into halves. Scoop out seeds and freeze. Then thaw when you want to make stuffed peppers.

They take less time to cook than fresh because the freezing makes them soft.

It’s the only way I make my stuffed peppers.

Yes! I chop up and freeze all the time. Great to have on hand to throw in different dishes.

I cut them and freeze them to use in my egg scrambles in the mornings. Just make sure you freeze them spread out on a cookie sheet & parchment.

Once they are frozen enough you can transfer to a freezer bag and they won’t stick together.

Yes, but they’ll lose their crisp. If you’re going to core and seed them for making stuffed peppers some other time, it won’t matter.

Yes, I slice mine and freeze in FoodSaver bags or ZipLock bags; always try to buy more peppers than I need so I can freeze extras for later use.

Yes. I often make an assortment of strips and diced peppers.

They are best in cooked recipes like chili or sausage and peppers.

We never throw out a pepper. It’s always cut and frozen if we missed eating in its prime.

We never throw out cherry/grape tomatos either.

Same process and then used in soup/stews
