For all those wondering about the impact of tariffs. I work for a large home improvement retailer. We just moved retails up 10% in many home decor categories.

Amongst many other categories, but I just work in that division in corporate.

Reason for this post was to share an actual impact.

Many people have asked question about what our thoughts are on the tariffs and their impacts.

I’d prefer a short term price increase over allowing the world to continue to rape us long term.

Money grab. The tariff war will end with something fair for everyone. Right now, we have a huge trade deficit

I feel like this is representative of companies taking advantage of the current climate without even realizing the true extent of the financial impact the tariffs, or how long they will last.

Feels like money grabbing to me.

The organization I work for is looking for ways to save in other areas so as not take a price increase.. especially at this time.

I suppose we will see which strategy wins with the consumer.

I’m also in manufacturing and we are doing similar. Raw materials can’t be sourced from the US 100%.

Even if goods are built here.

That’s ok. Consumerism through the roof. People don’t need much to live happy!

Bring on the pain and get it over with. Even the playing field and make sure EVERYONE PAYS their fair share as the left loves to preach!

Anyone with basic research skills knows America has been being abused and about time it is fixed just like wasted tax dollars that Clinton and DumBama themselves said they’d fix but didn’t.

House cleaning is needed just like most Americans houses need cleaned. Get’r done!

Oh, combat high prices byyyy…..not buying, pure and simple.

I feel as if corporate America will use these tariffs as an excuse to grossly raise prices just like they did during COVID.

Sure, some things will increase but they will increase the price of everything.

Increase all you want, that doesn’t mean anyone has to buy it.

Not surprised. Even those that aren’t included by way of brand/location of origin will increase to match those that do because they can.

Car dealers are doing the same even for the inventory on the lot. It’s a money grab.

Companies are digging their own graves. The sad part is that only some of them will make it to the other side.

If one increases, before it even bought the inventory higher in price, which means they are selling their old inventory at a higher price, the rest will follow.

There will be a point when people will just stop buying luxuries, and who will suffer?

it sure if I’m understanding how this works,, if a item costs the company 1.00 and a 10% tariff is put on,,, then doesn’t it now cost the company 1.10?

and if that company retails it for 10.00 why would they raise the list price 10% to 11.00?

shouldn’t it be 10.10 if they are just passing on the tariff?
