Hi all! I have two asks for you today!
First, we’re looking into spending a week in North Carolina’s coast this summer.

What would be interesting places to visit and see with a 6yo boy.

Also, I’ll looking for any ways that we can save on AirBnb, flights and car rental. We’re flying from Denver if it matters.

      We’re lookinginto the Wilmington area.
Second, both my husband and I need significant dental work, for him including bridges, for me a couple root canals and cavities.

I have dental insurance but not sure what it covers, he doesn’t have any.

What are some ways to get work done on a budget in both situations without putting it on CC.

Also, the few places I have asked just ask me to get a new CC they work with and put it on that.

      Anything will be helpful.
      Thank you very much!

Dental work is very expensive. Insurance does not cover much compared to what it costs, unless it’s a cavity or dental cleaning. I would say get a few quotes and compare.

Also, research dentists. Ask them how long does a bridge/crown that is done by them lasts.

Don’t make a decision when they give you a quote. Sleep on it. Know, not all dentist are equal. I had one crown that lasted 3 years and one that lasts 20.

I also had 5 different treatments proposed by 5 dentists for the same exact thing.

One of them said that they would do nothing while the other said “this needs to come out immediately”. I am living year 3 of doing nothing – leaving as is.

Get dental cleaning twice per year. Buy electric oral b brush. Get water pick for flossing. Worth every penny. My dental health was neglected during childhood years.

My parents always said that I had bad teeth. I had a lot of fixing to do in my adult years.

After all the work was done, I did not have a single cavity for 20 years. Prevention is key.

        Good luck.

I know it’s a pain, but you best find out exactly what your dental insurance covers. as for your vacation – it sounds fun but the dental work is more important.

if it’s a grandson or a son – set a good example for him by making your teeth a priority.

you can find something fun to do locally with him until your dental problems are finished.

if you can’t do both yours and hubby’s – at least do your teeth this year, pay off the credit card – and then do his next.

I will add that states are cheaper then others. We go to PA because it is cheaper and quality of services is better.

I’ve have had several root canals and they were about $1,200 each depending on which tooth.

I don’t have a bridge but implants cost me about $4000-$5000 per tooth which includes extraction, bone graft, implant and crown.

I have 4 implants and paid a combination of cash and credit card. Insurance paid little towards the implants.

Go to the Care Credit website and see if they have cost information about bridges.
